SBS has once again been named as a finalist in this year's Building Communities Awards. The organisers, Efficiency East Midlands, shortlisted the company for its Project of the Year award.
In February 2018, SBS will start work on a new £2m energy efficiency scheme in Padiham, Lancashire. Commissioned by DREEAM - a European funded demonstration project - the work will seek to prove that larger scale refurbishments deliver greater and more cost-effective energy savings than schemes involving single properties alone.
In the run-up to Christmas, Wakefield & District Housing invited SBS and other supply chain partners to make a contribution to a project that provides help and support to homeless people.
As part of the organisation's community Christmas festivities, WDH hopes to distribute around 100 backpacks - containing warm clothes, hygiene products and staple foods. The packs will be given out in key areas by Wakefield Baptist Church and Soup4em - a charity based in South Kirby.
Last year, Sustainable Building Services (UK) Ltd earned itself a mention in a major governmental report into energy efficiency measures in the social housing sector. Now, just less than 12 months later, SBS has again featured as an exemplar of industry best practice.
SBS is currently delivering external repair works for Denbighshire County Council, and a range of insulation and re-roofing works for Wrexham County Borough Council. These frameworks recently gave us the opportunity to deliver some added social benefit in the form of two local charity fundraising initiatives.
