In a previous article, we reported that representatives from BEIS and TrustMark had visited one of our energy-efficiency retrofit schemes in Stramshall near Uttoxeter. That was followed this month (11 May) by another BEIS visit – this time to a decarbonisation project in Reading. We are delivering the £1.8 million scheme on behalf of Reading Borough Council.
On Thursday 28th April 2022, SBS staff welcomed representatives of BEIS, TrustMark and other agencies to Vicarage Road in Stramshall near Uttoxeter, to inspect progress on an ongoing energy efficiency retrofit programme.
On 9th February 2022, the Social Housing Retrofit Accelerator scheme held an online masterclass to demonstrate the benefits of larger scale retrofit projects. The webinar focused on the DREEAM community regeneration scheme, which was delivered by SBS in 2018 and led by the social housing provider Places for People.
On 7th February, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy announced the names of the 69 local authorities that had made successful bids for £179 million allocated via Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Wave 1 funding.
In January 2022, SBS received written confirmation that its bid for Lot 1 of the £750m Fusion 21 Decarbonisation Framework had been successful.
Lot 1 is titled ‘Whole House Decarbonisation,’ and, in all, it could be worth up to £500 million. It will fund whole-house retrofit solutions including insulation, ventilation, renewable energy and associated general improvement works. More specifically, these measures are likely to include:
In late December 2021, Lee Rowley MP, representative of North East Derbyshire, visited a series of homes recently improved by SBS under the Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery (LAD) scheme.
