Back in February, we announced that we had helped Rykneld Homes to celebrate the handover of its thousandth property to be fitted with external wall insulation. We have since completed that phase of works, which came to a successful conclusion in March. Working in the Grassmoor area, we installed EWI to a total of 172 REEMA properties.
Based on our experience of working on non-traditional, we submitted a proposal to refurbish 24 houses of Spooner, non-traditional construction, which were potentially destined for demolition. We were subsequently approved to deliver this next phase of works, which has just got under way.
The work will entail opening up pockets of brickwork to inspect the timbers, followed by the installation of new wall ties, external wall insulation, new roofs, and new windows and doors. The scheme, procured via Efficiency East Midlands, is worth approximately £500,000 and will likely run until towards the end of the year.
Unusually, the scheme is part funded under the ECO3 scheme, thanks to a close working relationship between SBS and the energy company E.ON.
