In mid 2016, SBS won a place on Denbighshire County Council's 'External Major Repairs' framework and began its first project under phase 1. Now, at the tail-end of 2019, SBS is building on that relationship as the framework moves into a third phase.
The scheme is entitled "Council Housing External Major Repairs Lot 3" and SBS won it on the strength of a mini competition. Involving 109 council-owned properties, the work entails fitting external wall insulation and various other measures. These include the replacement roof coverings, rainwater goods, soffits and fascias, together with above-ground drainage and fitting new entrance canopies and bay window roofs. Other works include fitting external doors and windows to outbuildings, together with roof timber repairs, masonry repairs and re-decoration.
Staff are now on site. Early preparations for the scheme have included producing resident literature in two languages - Welsh and English - and appointing a new resident liaison officer. Aleta Braia was recruited from within the local community and she began her induction in October 2019.
We also recently held a community event to give residents the opportunity to ask questions and to get a better understanding of the works that will be carried out.
