In December 2019, CHIC (Central Housing Investment Consortium) announced that it had appointed SBS as one of the contractors on its ‘Procurement of Internal and External Building Works Framework.’
Principally, the framework covers planned works for homes across the Midlands, the South and South Wales, although some wider work may be required because some CHIC clients operate nationally.
SBS won its place on the basis of an open tender. It submitted a bid for lot 1 of the framework, which pertains to ‘whole-life services including installation, replacement, refurbishment, improvement and repair.’ The lot extends to internal and external building works that comprise multiple building elements. Examples include:
- Bathrooms and kitchens
- Building extensions and remodelling
- Door and window replacements
- Environmental improvements external
- Environmental improvements internal
- External & internal wall insulation
- Fascias, soffits & bargeboards
- Heating systems
- Rainwater goods
- Roofing – pitched and flat
- Solar PV installations
The decision to appoint SBS was made on the basis of price and quality.
“We’re very pleased to have won a place on this framework,” said SBS's Senior Business Development Manager Robin Evans. “CHIC represents another new client for us so we’re looking forward to showing them what we can do, and how we add value.”
