Success on North Wales Framework Bid

Sustainable Building Services (UK) Limited recently received formal confirmation that it had won a place on the North Wales ECO Procurement Framework.

The framework will last up to four years and will cover the funding, delivery and project management of a full range of energy efficiency retrofit work on existing housing stock. Internal and external wall insulation are expected to account for a significant proportion of the work delivered under the scheme, but it will also cover everything from draught-proofing and window repairs to the installation of new energy efficient central heating systems, heat recovery units and biomass boilers.

This framework, led by Wrexham County Borough Council extends across a large part of North Wales including the following Local Authorities; Flintshire CC, Conwy CC and Denbighshire CC. It enables works on up to 200,000 homes in both the public and private sector.

Sustainable Building Services won its place on the framework in the face of strong competition. From the scores of contractors who submitted applications, a shortlist of ten was produced and, from these, the organisers made their final selection of four specialist contractors.

“We are very pleased to have won a place on this framework,” said company owner Derek Horrocks. “We did so despite intense competition and now we’re eager to repay the clients’ confidence in us. We’re very conscious that the works covered by the scheme will make an important difference to the lives of many residents in North Wales so we’ll be looking for any opportunities to make budgets go further and to deliver real added value.”
