Excellent Progress in Wrexham

SBS recently received video footage from its latest aerial survey of Plas Madoc in North Wales, where it is delivering a large re-roofing and external wall insulation project for Wrexham County Borough Council.

Work is now well advanced, with many properties now complete, so this survey gave us the chance to document the various improvements. Comparing the footage with the video we took in February, the extent of the finished works is very clear.

Progress on site has been very steady and the £2.1M scheme is running ahead of schedule; it's expected to be complete before the end of the year. Approximately 80% of the 220 occupied properties are now finished. Many residents have received Energy Performance Certificates that confirm significant energy efficiency improvements that should help to keep them warm and cut their bills for many years to come.

In addition to the re-roofing, the work has entailed fitting new external wall insulation to most (approx 200) of the properties, as well as associated adaptations. It has also involved some painting and decorating work, door replacements, external lighting and installing canopies over front doors.
