In December, we reported that we had begun three new schemes for Wrexham County Borough Council, one of which was a re-roofing project at Tegid. It involved roof repairs to a total of 29 properties – a mix of flats and houses – and was valued at £232,000.

Work on site came to a successful conclusion on 21st February 2020.

The scheme entailed not only re-roofing the main buildings but a host of associated works including:

  • Chimney repairs
  • Flaunching, re-pointing and lead-work
  • Replacing 9 front door canopies
  • New roofing for porches
  • Replacement PVC fascias and rainwater goods

The scheme was completed on time and on budget, and also provided training and employment for a number of local residents. Two trainee roofers worked part time on site while studying at a local college, and SBS directly employed two further residents who worked as labourers on site.

Other schemes for Wrexham County Borough Council are currently ongoing.
