Having completed the retrofit of 98 homes in collaboration with North West based Magenta Living as part of SHDF Wave 1, we recently took the opportunity to visit Deverill Road in Rock Ferry on Wirral to get on the ground and see the progress first-hand.

Now, our team has started the management and delivery of a further 40 homes as part of SHDF Wave 2. Magenta’s investment under the latest phase will total £3.6m, helping 161 homes across the borough raise their energy efficiency ratings, and in turn, their health, financial position, and overall quality of life.

Joining us on this visit were our valued project partners from Magenta, including Ian Thomson, Leah Gilbert, Simon McLachlen, Carmen Muir and Ann Louise Gilmore.

Ian Jones, our regional director, said: “Magenta Living is making excellent use of energy efficiency funding it has available and we’re extremely pleased to be delivering its latest decarbonisation scheme – building on the strong collaborative relationship that we share.

“In the discourse around how to meet our net zero goals, it’s important not to forget the benefits we’re enabling for the individuals living in the homes we work on too. Decarbonisation does not only benefit properties and the planet, it helps people live happier, healthier lives. The work that Magenta is undertaking acknowledges and demonstrates a commitment to the need for improved homes, and we can’t wait to handover to many more happy residents once complete.”

Over the past few years, the momentum in our mission has increased exponentially, and we won’t be slowing down anytime soon. Through collaborations like this, as well as across the wider energy efficiency and retrofit decarbonisation sector, we’re driving forward a better, more sustainable future.
