The SBS team is getting bigger each month as we deliver increasing numbers of decarbonisation schemes across the UK. The latest to join us are two new trainee quantity surveyors, Amber Lawton and Lucas Roberts.
Amber comes to us from Winstanley College in Wigan, where she completed her A-levels. Under her new apprenticeship programme, she will typically be spending three days a week on-site, one day in the SBS head office, and another day studying at John Moores University, working towards a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying.
In mid-June, government announced the likely timeline for submissions for funding via Wave 2 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF). The official guidance notes that the competition window is likely to open in late August / early September 2022, but that applicants are encouraged to begin preparing their applications now.
On 5th July, SBS staff will attend a “Spark Apprenticeship Marketplace” event at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston. It will run from 9:30am to 3:00pm.
The day-long event is a platform for enabling meetings between prospective degree apprentices and regional employers. It is part of a series of sessions, each focusing on a specific sector: engineering, construction, business and digital industries.
SBS is pleased to announce the appointment of James Phillips, who joined the company in June, taking the role of Regional Operations Manager.
