SDHF Wave 2 Timeline

On Monday 13 June, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) held an event for local authorities, combined authorities and registered providers of social housing. It set out to explain how they could apply for funding to improve the energy performance of their properties.

The funding is available under the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 2. This will be divided into separate tranches, the first of which will have a value of up to £700 million. The works funded by the scheme will bring properties up to a minimum EPC rating of “C”.

NIA Parliamentary Day: a Great Success

The National Insulation Association’s Parliamentary Day, which was recently sponsored by SBS, has been hailed as a resounding success.

The exclusive invitation-only event took place on Monday 6th June and, as we reported in our previous news article, it spanned two London venues: Broadway House and the House of Commons Terrace.

SBS Now a FENSA Approved Installer

In June 2022, SBS was declared a FENSA-Approved Window and Door Installer. The installation of energy-efficient doors and glazing has been a big part of our work for many years now, so gaining our own approved installer status was a logical next step.

FENSA itself notes that:

“FENSA is a government-authorised scheme that monitors building regulation compliance for replacement windows and doors. Each FENSA Approved Installer… is assessed regularly by us to ensure its compliance to building regulations is continually maintained.
