SBS has announced that it will be a co-sponsor of the National Insulation Association’s AGM and industry policy briefing, and a special Parliamentary Reception, which will be held at the House of Commons Terrace on Monday 6th June.
On 23 March 2022, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, released his Spring Statement, which included an announcement about a new VAT reduction on energy efficiency measures.
Released on the same day as ONS reported that inflation had hit a 30-year high of +6.2%, the statement listed other initiatives intended to address the UK’s severe cost-of-living crisis. One of these included allocating an extra £500 million in funding for local authorities to support the country’s most vulnerable households.
As part of its ongoing energy efficiency works in Rhyl, SBS has engaged with North Wales Training to provide work experience opportunities for local residents. The initiative has already supported 10 individuals and has helped a number of them to secure lasting employment.
SBS is pleased to be a sponsor of the 2022 ‘Impact on the Community Awards’, hosted by the social housing provider Trent & Dove.
2022 will mark the 16th year of the awards, which celebrate individuals and organisations that have helped to transform lives, homes and communities in the region.
The awards evening will take place in May and will feature nine categories in all.
SBS teams are reporting good progress on the Wychavon District Council Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Demonstrator scheme – a project that involves delivering multiple energy efficiency measures to 34 low-rise properties.
Part of the project focuses upon a series of bungalows in Uttoxeter, managed by the social housing provider Trent & Dove. Another element entails improvements to a number of flats in Birmingham, owned by the Trident Group housing association. The scheme as a whole is due to continue until the summer.
